MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

LEON J

PRODUCER | PERFORMER | EDUCATOR

Leon J is a professional producer, DJ, and educator with over two decades of experience in music production, live performance, and music education. An Ableton Certified Trainer since 2011, he specializes in music production, sound design, mixing and mastering, DJ instruction, arrangement, and efficient workflow techniques within Ableton Live.

With production experience spanning multiple genres of music, Leon combines real-world industry knowledge with a clear, supportive, and highly personalized teaching style. He works with students of all ages and experience levels—from complete beginners to advanced producers—adapting each lesson to fit individual goals and learning styles.

A former faculty member of the Minneapolis Media Institute, Leon currently tours with St. Paul & The Minneapolis Funk Allstars. Passionate about teaching, he is dedicated to helping students build creativity, confidence, and practical skills they can immediately apply to their own music.
